It is advisable to practice wheelie with a dirtbike not only on looser ground (field, meadow, compacted dirt road, etc.) but also on firmer surfaces (asphalt, concrete). Because while on solid ground the grip is very predictable and constant, so the reaction of the bike is more sensible, on the other hand, on looser ground the rear wheel sometimes spins more, sometimes it grips more strongly, and other times it just "scrapes".
For sure, if you practice a lot on looser ground and then move on to a solid surface, you will feel how much easier to wheelie there. But that's why you should also practice on looser ground, because it's harder there!
When choosing the right spot, consider the following:
• if possible, be a little further away from populated areas so as not to disturb others
• practice in an area with zero or minimal traffic
• the area must be sufficiently long (min. 100m) and wide (min. 5-6m).
• there should be no road crossings, no invisible turns/sections
• there should be no any obstacles near you
• before you start practicing, check the area by rolling slowly to avoid objects, obstacles, and accident-prone surfaces
• if you can, find a place with a little uphill and do the exercise in the direction of the hill (this helps you to accelerate less and your center of gravity is also placed further back, so you can feel it more easily)
• I think the ideal location is a large, wide, compacted field with a slight slope (as shown in the picture above)
